Social media promotions of webinar on migration on Climate and Migration

IOM's series of virtual "CONVERSATIONS on Migration in the Caribbean" aims to help shape the narrative around migration in the Caribbean, while addressing the real and significant challenges it faces, and how migration and human mobility can enable development. IOM and the UN Network on Migration (UNNM) in the Caribbean, are supporting the Caribbean Community (CARICOM)'s initiative to develop a Regional Migration Policy Framework. As mobility trends evolve, it is essential to deepen public understanding of how well-managed migration can support Caribbean societies and economies, and benefit both migrants and host communities. The upcoming episodes of “CONVERSATIONS on Migration in the Caribbean” will explore the dynamics around a regional approach to migration policy, highlighting the opportunities and considerations for Caribbean states navigating the transition towards freedom of movement.

We are looking for an experienced and creative Online Volunteer who will support our communications officer with the development of presentation materials and social media products for one (1) webinar from end of August through September. In close collaboration with the communications team, the Online Volunteer will
- Discuss and define the campaign’s target audience, partners, and desired goals
- Assist in defining promotion implementation plan
- Design social media products

The Online Volunteer will be provided with material and other sources to develop the products as required and available. For close coordination and discussion, the Online Volunteer is expected to be available for calls via Zoom/Microsoft Teams/WhatsApp. While the average number of hours would be about 10 per week, there could be weeks with less, and some with more, dependent on the timeline for the webinar.

This assignment provides Online Volunteers with an opportunity to develop and strengthen their skills in communication, social media, network with the IOM staff other UNVs and other learning experiences.
