Lifting Hands International is looking for a motivated and practical Volunteer Logistics Assistant in Greece to support the day-to-day operations of our centre, apartments, warehouse, and freeshop.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and learning new practical skills in a dynamic environment.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

About Us

Lifting Hands International operates a community center in Serres, a small city about an hour from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. We work with a population of 1000+ refugees & asylum seekers at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs.

Main Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Logistics Manager and support across several areas:

  • Maintenance and basic repairs in apartments and the Centre
  • Bikes inventory and would involve, leading regular bike shift with other volunteers and facilitating the bike workshop on field.
  • Supporting the running and organisation of the Freeshop
  • Helping in the warehouse with stock movement, organisation, and upkeep
  • Occasional field support when needed
  • General practical support across logistics operations

What we’re looking for

  • Some experience using basic tools (or strong willingness to learn)
  • A valid driving licence
  • Enthusiasm to learn practical skills such as:
  • Basic electrical work
  • Plumbing
  • Small engine or mechanical repairs
  • General handyman tasks
  • A proactive, reliable, and hands-on attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment
