About MEAL Center

MEAL Center (MC) is a regional consulting firm specializing in monitoring, evaluation, research, assessments, third-party monitoring (TPM), learning, capacity building, and related advisory services. MC works with humanitarian and development organizations across several countries in the region, including Sudan.

MC is expanding its roster of qualified field personnel who may be engaged for upcoming research, monitoring, evaluation, and data-collection assignments across the country.

Purpose of the Roster

We are inviting Sudan-based professionals and experienced field personnel to register for potential short-term assignments with MC. Profiles may be considered for roles including:

  • Field Researchers / Enumerators
  • Field Monitors
  • Field Supervisors / Team Leaders

Registration in the roster is not an offer of immediate employment or engagement. Selected candidates may be contacted when their location, experience, skills, and availability match the requirements of a specific assignment.

Location

Sudan - Multiple locations.

Applicants should clearly indicate their current state and locality when completing the registration form.

Potential Assignments

Roster members may be considered for different types of fieldwork, including:

  • Household and beneficiary surveys
  • Key informant interviews (KIIs)
  • Focus group discussions (FGDs)
  • Needs assessments
  • Baseline and endline studies
  • Third-party monitoring (TPM)
  • Market assessments
  • Direct observation and verification visits
  • Impact assessments
  • Resilience, conflict, peace, and other analytical studies
  • Training and supervision of teams

Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Are currently based in Sudan and available for field assignments;
  • Have experience or interest in field research, monitoring, assessments, surveys, or related data-collection activities;
  • Are able to communicate effectively with communities, beneficiaries, and stakeholders;
  • Can work accurately and professionally while following research protocols and ethical requirements;
  • Have experience with digital data-collection tools such as KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, ODK, or similar platforms, where applicable;
  • Are able to work independently as well as within field teams;
  • Are willing to travel outside their current area when assignment conditions permit.

Previous humanitarian or development field experience is an advantage. Applicants with experience supervising field researchers or leading field teams are particularly encouraged to register for supervisory roles.

Knowledge of relevant Sudanese local languages is an asset.
